Flying Biscuit

So I have had one heck of a weekend!! On Saturday I was driving to Raleigh to go to the Saving Abel/Papa Roach/Hinder/Nickelback Concert. WELL I stopped by to get some gas and I didn’t even realize how close I was to the curb and I totally ran right into it.

Needless to say I blew my whole tire and the rim

Well I had to get a tow take me to a tire place to get it fixed.  What a hassle and an expensive mistake!

I did make it to the concert, we missed Saving Abel but were able to catch the other three bands.

I have to say that my food choices that day were NOT the best.  I had a PBJ and Larabar earlier in the day. But once I got to Raleigh I was hungry and frusterated (two things that will make you make bad choices when it comes to food).  On the way into the concert there were tons of people tailgating so my aunt asked a group if I could have a hot dog.  The group was so nice and let me have a grilled dog and some delicious watermelon! It tasted so yummy but I knew that I’d be hungry later.

Once inside we caught Papa Roach!!

About this time I was hungry again! AAHHH! So I went out to the concession stands to get some very healthy food! Haha. I went for a grilled chicken wrap, not terrible but it was in a white flour tortilla and ranch.  ON TOP OF THAT I ate about half of a soda cup full of french fries. Terrible!

After my great food choices Nickelback came on! They sounded great, he is a fun front man and sounds just as good live.  It was hard to get good pictures because they move around too much

The next day (today Sunday) I decided to try The Flying Biscuit which I’ve heard good things about.  They started out by bringing a biscuit.  I only ate about half of it. It was okay, a little salty and I didn’t love the jam they gave.

This place serves breakfast all day and some lunch and dinner foods.  Looking over the whole menut, I got the 3B Chicken Sandwich.  I couldn’t help myself, the blue cheese and bacon combo was too tempting!

I got a salad on the side.  Again I decided only to eat half. It was so delicous! I would be interested in trying their breakfast food since about half of their menu is breakfast

lovin’ oats

So I have to praise Amy’s Organic Steel-Cut Oats. I was SUPER impressed. It’s in the frozen section and you pop it in the microwave for about 4 minutes.

The ingredietns are very simple, Filtered Water, Organic Steel-Cut Oats, Organic Agave Nectar, Sea Salt and Organic Cinnamon.  Amy’s is non-dairy, no trans fat, no preservatives and no cholesterol.

The oats were super delcious and fluffy! It was so easy to have it already made up and all you must do it heat it up.  I added to it a couple tablespoons of  MyMix granola, half a banana, barney butter and peanut butter and co dark chocolate dreams.

It left me very satisfied and filling, but not that “stuffed” feeling you sometimes get after eat a carb heavy meal.

I know this may be an odd choice for gym music, but I really enjoy listening to the Fray’s Never Say Never.  It is actually a very good song to listen to when you are first starting off your work out ( I esp. love it when I’m on the Stair Climber).
