My Journey
Here’s How I Got To This Point
I had always been an active person. Growing up I danced, played tennis and socccer. When I got to Middle/High School I played Volleyball and even played club ball when the school seasons were over.
When I was in High School I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. Ever since then I have been taking Synthroid. I can’t say I have noticed the sypmtoms affecting me except maybe I am cold all the time and when I do not take my medicine my throat kind of swells up.
I had always weighed 130 from high school throughout college. My junior year of college however was quite a different story.
COLLEGE YEARS
During my junior year I did basically no workouts (minus walking to class and to parties) and indulged in different foods and beverages (by this point I had turned 21). I tipped the scales at 138, the heaviest I’ve been. During senior year I slimmed back down to 130.
AFTER- COLLEGE
After I graduated I began to look for jobs and decided to tackle my health. I ran around my apartment complex each day and began to eat a little better. Over the course of the summer (about 3 months) I lost 20 pounds and was down to about 110. I then started to track my calories on the calorieking program which I bought. I got down to 107 pounds, which I now see was too skinny for me.
WEIGHT- TRAINING
Late 2007 I got a trainer and began working with weights. My trainer was great and we worked on building muscle. After my sessions ran out I began to work heavily with weights but I was still eating low calories, maybe 1200-1300 on top of heavy workouts.
2009
In 2009 I decided to make a change with my body. I lifted heavy weights and began eating a lot more 1700-1900 calories. I noticed that I had defined leg muscles and nice biceps. My whole body was much stronger. Of course when you are eating a lot to gain muscle some fat will occur so now I am trying to eliminate any extra fat to reveal the muscle. I have cut calories down a but and I am adding cardio to my workouts. Right now I am a solid 122 pounds. I do not worry about my exact weight, but more so the fat percentage. I would like to get it down to 14%.
